What are these connectors for ?
As per the title, these two connectors are located towards the offside rear of the engine bay.
Anyone have any idea what they are for........I have the distant recollection that the two socket one could be a very basic diagnostic plug , but not sure if my memory is deceiving me or not ? If it is, what parameters might it be checking ? Any ideas much appreciated. 20210604_091904 by Frank Brejcha, on Flickr |

I very much doubt they're diagnostics. Back in 1980, there were no Audis with diagnostic capability.
Not easy to tell from the photo - what colours are the wires. The 2 pin looks like a typical fluid level sensor like you'd see on a brake fluid cap or similar. It's obviously on the wrong side for your car. The 4 pin is more like a power connector. It's likely they're unused on your car and are part of a loom for other options not installed.

The little rubber covered one looks like the connector to the "econometer" sensor similar to that on a GT5s.
As Mike says, the 4 pole one looks like some kind of power connector, looks like the one used under the dash on a coupe/cq/ur for the lighting loom on those models. |

As per Mike, likely unused in your car and can be tidied out of the way.
