Default audi quattro brake problem

i have a brake problem with my 90 quattro, i have bled the brakes and i still have a rubbish pedal, it DOES go hard but only 3/4 of the way down, there is no creeping down beyond this point.
Up till the point of it going hard the pedal feels "spongy" as if you havent bled them. Once you get a "pedal" at 3/4 the brakes work fine car pulls straight under braking and slows down as it should (for an 85 car )
im gonna bleed them again in a couple of days, as the car has been stood for ages (all calipers are free)
there is a little device piped in below the mastercylinder that i can only guess is a regulator , this looks a little damp on the end where the end cap is pressed in or held in by a circlip
any other ideas

It's not something really that you'd sell on as second hand, for safety reasons I suppose. You need to make sure which one it is then buy new. Shouldn't have an issue getting hold of one..........yet!!

Good job it wasn,t the master cylinder,it,s a bitch of a job.
You have to take half of your car apart,to get to it.

The brake pressure regulator is NLA and has been for some time.

I imported one from the USA last year

So thats it then..... Can't get one of those and the car is off the road for good?

Can they be rebuilt or an OEM version available somewhere?
