Unfortunately, the guy we got was from an AA partner garage, so he didn't have the VAGCOM. When he saw the list of parts I'd replaced, he decided there was nothing he could do but tow us home. Good thing is the car is home now |

I actually thought car would have started after having cooled down on way home, but it didn't. When I got home, I stuck a plug into one of the leads, put the electrode to earth and checked for a spark.....nothing! How is that possible with all the new bits that have been fitted? On the plus side, might. be easier to pinpoint fault now. |

If the Camshaft position sensor is faulty the ecu recognises this and shuts down the sparks and fuel. So is this new Intermotor sensor faulty? |

I think it's time now that an auto electrician gets out the meter and checks for ohms and
what not to see what is working properly with these new things you've put on the engine. Just to clarify and keep you sain as to what is working in there and not to waste any more money. Last edited by vorsprung durch technik; 18-08-19 at 03:12 PM. Reason: Said should be sain bloody auto correct. |

While I was waiting on the tow truck, I googled Audi specialists in my area, and there is a place 9 mike's from me that has excellent reviews for service and pricing. I'll phone them tomorrow morning. I'm in mixed emotions right now. Disappointed that this has happened, but buoyed by the way the car drove for the 35 minutes from home to garage. The car felt great, and I actually said to my wife "I think it's cured itself!". Anyway, professional diagnosis now required. Hopefully, this is all about to be resolved in the next few days. |

Still got the original, so I might try swapping it back. Might do the same with the ignition amplifier too.

I would get them checked first before you do just to be absolutely sure, otherwise you could be chasing your tail all over the place without a start base of proven good parts.
