Fuel pump mounted in boot of CQ?
My fuel pump on my type 85 CQ gets pretty rusty under the car.
So I was wondering if installing it in the boot would be a good idea ? And if anybody else is running a fuel pump in the boot on their cars too? |

This may sound daft but you will need to run any fuel pipes into the boot and back out and reroute the wiring, and if you have a fuel leak it would be in the boot not outside the car, it just seems like a lot of work, the pumps are designed to be under the car and last for a good number of years in that location.

I would invest in some of this anti corrosive clear film wax by Bilt Hamber. If you google it, it’s won lots of awards for longevity and I’m sure you won’t see rust reappear, especially if you do the odd top up from time to time. It’s a lot better than waxoyl and a lot cleaner!
