Mine doesn't have the retaining bar, is that usual? They are just a straight interference fit in the tubes

Cold Start Valve - Audi 100 2.2
Ok so thanks to all who contributed here - I had the cold start issue - the cold start valve power cable was disconnected when I got the car......bad sign!
Anyway I tested the 12v output on the socket connected to the cold start valve - it was just under 12v when starting so I was happy that the cold start valve was getting enough power. Next I thought the Thermotime switch was the problem - this came from reading this and other forums. I bought a replacement secondhand on eBay (Germany) for €47-. Replaced it and it all works...so lucky me... If it was not the Thermotime I guess I'd need the ignition/injection systems checked by a specialist....not easy to find. The car was running far to rich, it stank of petrol on start up and ran unpredictably, sometimes it would cut out until hot.....also the MPG was worse than usual - 25MPG. Hope this helps others in the same boat..... |
