No trying to be rude but out of genuine interest as I have been out of the loop on values and what is going on in the classic Audi world.

But I have BTDT with brakes and the gains are minimal in the real world and these days is originality where it is at as the prices are only going one way and original cars are getting very thin on the ground.

Or is it sympathetic mods are not affecting the values a lot.

hi gib , no your not being rude , that's what these forums are all about . sharing and helping other members , you are correct original spec is worth more , that's always been the case with collectors cars , I will just go for the solid discs due to the fact I cant be botherd buying new caliper carriers, I don't think the vents would have been a bad mod , but the car is just for driving at mostly normal speeds , so im sure the solid discs will be fine , , I have the rally Quattro for the flat out stuff , which is fitted with 335 discs all round ,6 pots fr and rear , now that does stop well
