Very nice indeed, thanks for sharing.
I did have a WUR from a UR quattro in bits in the last month as it was not holding a vacuum, I could not fully dissemble at that time but this helps as I did not know about the rivets, the loss of vacuum was caused by corrosion between the large flat silicon gasket and the main alloy body of the WUR, you can see the corrosion in the photos you have posted. |

That got cleaned with a green pad and then had a hot bath in the ultrasonic cleaner.
I do have a cheap vacuum gauge (used for balancing carbs back in the day and where consistency rather than accuracy is the thing) and I used that to confirm that it was holding a vacuum (I pinched the hose upstream of the guage and turned the engine off) Due to the fact that I don’t trust the guage, I used the non vacuum specs provided by Mike as my benchmark |

Having seen the quality of the bits and instructions, this wouldn’t phase me now |

Duffy.. Once again you're advice has encouraged me to rebuild the final bits of my fuel system (wur and distributor) I'm getting awful mpg currently and these are the only parts of the system I've not rally worked on. Unsure if the pressure regulator is working but I've seen a delphi part for about £50 delivered, brand new, so I'm almost tempted to omit buying gauges to check it all and just crack on considering the overall poor state of everything else fuel related when I started work on the car.

If it’s the correct part then £50’s a bargain, I did think it was a Bosch only part

I thought that too, I was losing hope at the price of it. It links as being a compatible part number:

Ah that’s a different thing entirely from what I did
You’ve got a different system entirely If that’s what you've got I would just be replacing it unless I knew it was faulty |

I have the 3a engine. But I'll be replacing that I think and doing the rest of the rebuild on the wur as you have here in the next couple of months so definitely helpful stuff!
