Default Is the repair price right?

I've been quoted £180 (total) to repair a 3/4 inch long gouge in my C3 rear spoiler.

This is to repair/texture and paint the spoiler.

The quote is from one of those mobile body repair specialists.

Does it sound right to you?

When you say total do you mean including vat ? if so doesn't sound bad for a proper job.
If that's a cash in hand payment it does sound expensive.

Make sure its proper job, local mobile guy near my parents actually doing a smart (dumb) repair in the rain under a golfing brolly to a 65 reg motorhome earlier this week, wonder how long that will last b4 the micro blisters and poor match are noticed.

Maybe prices differ regionally?

I personally think 180 sounds too much.

Industry average fare is £187 per panel, cheaper up north, more expensive down south, within the M25 is double.

11 panels on a car gives you your 2K respray.

I always attract adverse comments on here, probably explains why I don't bother much unless it is a subject close to home, like this one.

People dont realise how much effort actually goes into paint and bodywork so bills tend to be looked at suspiciously.
As youre in the field you already fully grasp the concept that quality costs due to the considerable skill, time and efforts that go into a decent paintjob, customers quite often dont.

Is this a paintshop job though? My impression is it's a gouge out of a rubber spoiler?
