Have a look at Golf GTi Stuff for the ARB... Our old GT ran an Eibach ARB with Golf GTi Hangers.

offset of wheels might have altered scrub radius.

1. budget
2. specification
3. find someone capable of doing the job right.

in that order, will do you proud, in the long run.

any garage will fit suspension and braking upgrades i'd imagine if you can perhaps help them to find some of the parts (on here is a good place for that!)

some of the 'readers restos'/'readers rides' threads will give you a few ideas i'm sure!

personally, i'd travel some considerable distance to have certain jobs done by people who know their stuff.
Sound advice ! Thanks.

Default Black Interior ?

The old, very green, interior simply has to go.

Can anyone point me at a black carpet and some replacement seating ?

Alternatively, does anyone know a decent upholsterer who's got a suitable set of patters ?

I remain keen to keep her but the temptation to move on to something a bit more modern is never far away.

I'm in the same boat lol.... I am so wanting to change the CQ, but hand on heart I know it's value will drop quite a lot. Can I do it to a car whose value has finally started to make headway? Maybe I should just sell up and buy a cheaper more powerful car to 'play with'.

Have fun with the coupe, don't go mad and only do what you can undo later.

If the car is intended for just street use, grip will be enough. I once was given a ride in a B2 FWD coupe with KG engine with AAN management with chip - could be around 250-260 bhp - pushed into seats nicely, when accelerating in a straight line, in second gear one wheel was at the edge of grip.

I'm middle camp on my 100q 2.8 at the moment! I have a set of 17 boleros on it, I'm going to work through the suspension to tighten it up and lower just a little bit, someone had already stuck a k&n in it and drilled the airbox out so that has to be sorted to regain cold air input and I'm going to look at a brake upgrade of some kind, I have HP2s but I'll have to research carriers and discs.

Performance/engine - leaving it stock, durability is more important to me and my penis is huge anyway.

After that ride in that coupe I wanted turbo engine in my A90q, so by chance I acquired MC1 lump - but afterwards, when I had a chance do just ride around town alone in C4 A6 2.5 TDI which for some reason is as powerful as chiptuned engine, but without chip, and with stock boost threshold - I started to wonder if I really want engine which is asleep until rev counter hits 2k mark... Maybe MC with a small turbo... Or 2.6 10v NA engine... Or something else... ...if the A90q will ever see the road again... But until then it's there's mk2 golf, which year ago had weak and thirsty 1.3 engine replaced by more economical engine, which happens to be twice as powerful, because it's 2.0 8v - since then I've got used to sight of most of other cars falling behind when I floor the throttle...
