Alfa out of the way.. so can get a look at this now! Will start by looking down from the top and see what the slave cylinder is all about..

So just been out to have a closer look. Blimey! Really can’t see how this is done. I can see the slave, sitting underneath the steering rack and on top the gearbox. It looks like a a whole heap of stuff will need to be removed even just to get at the slave.... Any pointers folks?

Steering all the way across to the driver side. In through the wheel arch to undo the bolt or reach in from the top by feel because you won't see it.

Lie across the top of the engine and reach down to undo the hose and remove the slave.

Haha, got it off! I actually got it out from below....lol. So got the 13 socket on by feel after putting the steering over to the right...and that came off pretty easily, thankfully. Then i just wiggled back and forth the slave be kind of grabbing the small pipe and also got a a long bar and gave that a tap, started the movement.. this then allowed the slave to pulled down and out underneath the box, as the flex pipe allows for this.. Then managed to crack the pipe free from the slave 11mm spanner, and came off no probs! So slave is off!

As a side note.... is there some sort of breather pin/bolt thingy just sitting inboard of where the slave sits? Felt like a bolt that was sitting loose!

Hanging down..

New and old! Thoughts on the old one? The boot wanted to come off and there's a fair bit of crud in there...

Bit crappy looking, not soaking in fluid though? Worth while hanging onto it, maybe get a seal kit in the future..

You can see where old fluid had been leaking out...turning sort of crystallised .... Must have been on the way out for a while...
