Default A4 Yaw sensor

9 years since I last posted, surprised I remembered my password. Anyway, my B7 quattro Avant needs a replacement Yaw sensor. Silly money new, so used will have to do. How hard will it be to recode it? Thanks.

I have changed the steering angle sensor on A4 before for a second hand one, using VCDS i didn't need to code it, VCDS described a method of recalibration involving holding the brake on, turning the steering lock to lock and driving at slow speed etc. It has worked ever since

Thanks for the reply and info. A friend of mine has got VCDS, and there's plenty of used yaw sensors on ebay for £10-20. When I looked online, there was talk of having to recalibrate the ABS, steering angle and yaw sensor. Was the sensor you replaced located under the radio/climate control unit?

No, this was under the steering wheel

I don't think that's the Yaw sensor, at least not on a 2005 B7 A4.

No worries. I guess if someone knows the procedure, it's fairly straight forward to recode a replacement Yaw sensor. Just looking for a walk through if anyone knows the steps?

Are you sure it needs coded ?

http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/01542

There's nothing for the B7 but the Passat 3C only has basic settings to be set. Coding isn't mentioned
