[QUOTE, new set of plates and job done!

I agree about the plates, did you see the fiesta supersport on salvage hunters,

they kept bleating on about total originality yet the plates were the new font,

aaaaahhhhh

I didn't see it Peter but Practical Classics magazine is full of them! Cars that have been "subject to a meticulous restoration focusing on originality" then they finish it off with new style plates.

Plates and a few interior fixes and the above 80 is a belter The pictures look a wee bit enhanced perhaps?

Needs tyres also as the ones on it are 205/55 not the correct 205/50's

And wipers !

Door trim is starting to seperate, but I think you can get that now from audi tradition ? head lining can't be far behind although B3 saloons seen to fair better than coupes in that respect.

Shame about the mobile phone damage !

My brother used to have the quattro version of this back in the late nineties, cambelt snapped at low speed and although I though the engine was an interference unit we just replaced the belt and off it went with no ill effects. It used to show low oil pressure at low revs which I understand is a problem with the 4 cylinder 16v units as the mileage goes up, he eventially swaped it for some Fiat Bravo type sport thing which was a backwards step in my view.

Lovely looking but, a virtual identical car sold for £1695 at the weekend.
It also had correct font plates on it!
