Before you all get carried away with a huge great list, might I offer a small, but well learned lesson from the parts desk.
A part number may help enormously. Especially given that half the time, its the only way to direct some folk in the right direction. Also, there are a number of items which carry chassis specific numbers, but which are actually compatible across several different models. It may well be that a part now obsolete on an older chassis has a perfectly adequate alternative available on a later model. Audi are still a commercial exercise, and raiding parts bins for stuff that already exists is preferable to reinventing wheels. (notwithstanding PCD, diameter, width, offset, etc) Type 44 suspension parts can be serviced in many instances by C4 parts, for instance. Audi, (and VW) have been notably poor in their documentation at times. Parts consolidation done half heartedly, etc. It may pay dividends. Get a login for VAGCAT! it really does help.

Please can we only put on the list stuff that you have actually tried to get hold of and there is no feesable alternative solutution.
Quattro corner has loads of NLA parts so we really want to put stuff that is really NLA, anywhere ! Things like the clutch fluid resivior, Pete Reeve has them (or did do) and if he doesn't there are other solutions to use something non Audi. Also radiators, there are many companys that will re-core or make new or better ones for you from scratch for not much more than a cheepo Eurocarparts rad. Seals and head lights, etc, are more like it. |
