Pete, it's basically a non turbo 1.8t engine if you get me...

Used in A4's and vw pissrats too.

It's Exactley the same engine as the NA A4 1.8 20v 125 bhp (5v per cylinder) that was designed to be more fuel effeciant for the A4 and sold that way to the public, audi made a great thing of the 5 valve per cylinder. It was not a success as the car was judged slowish and not great on fuel in the A4. It had more torque lower down which was good.

OP, the hardtop i got for my 2.8 came from a low mileage 1.8 5v same as in that picture you put up,i took it out for a drive. The car handled very nicely as it has a lighter lump under the bonnet.

Colour is everything on these cars and that colour is not popular.Spink on hear only a few weeks ago had one same colour but couldn't shift it/give it away. Give him a try.

We messaged with Spink about his car but unfortunately they put it in the back of a barn with some dead cars in front of it by the time I messaged him. I'd still be interested in that but he can't get it out...
I have messaged the seller on eBay, if he gives the ideal answers I might bid on it... Only thing is this ends on Saturday and I could only have a look on Sunday... So don't know yet but it does look nice on the pictures.
