As far as i'm aware the Ng also has bigger inlet valves? Perhaps the older K-Jet system could be connected to the NG inlet manifold?
I'm interested to hear how this project gets on!
by this time next year i hope to have got rid ok the Pita KEIII-jetronic injection out of my own vehicle, in favour of an electronic setup!
I'd just keep everything up top and swap over the blocks to get the extra cc. With this setup you should have 170lb/ft torque and around 180bhp if you have swapped the cam.
Fitting the likes of Lumenition electronic injection a good idea though expensive. On a WR quattro 10V, Fitting this kit alone can enable the power to reach a max of around 330bhp.

Cam alone will not do that, but booty has a ported big valve head if I am not mistaken so that pushes the engine upto 160bhp on its own, as the heads are the single biggest restriction on these engines. With a capacity increase power probably only goes up 5bhp but the torque will be noticably improved. A 268 cam will not effect running too much low down but provides a much keener mid and top end ...

Richards head actually has standard valve sizes which iirc is as per the rally vehicle.

There are however some further improvements that can be made to that particular head of his, given the extra info ive gained by testing various aspects of them.

Just out of interest, having done it before, whats involved on fitting to an engine with 53,000 miles on it? Anything else need replaced at the same time? And how badly does it affect economy (in normal driving not racing) ?
Tia.

It's just run in then
You might want to look at replacing the hydraulic followers at the same time and use a good cam lube if it doesn't come with the cam.
Fuel economy may drop a tad but only because you find your foot is on the carpet more. Steady cruising should make no or little difference.
I used to get 26-30mpg out of my 2337cc KV mostly and nearer 20 if having some fun.

If you're handy mechanically, yes and it goes wthout saying that you should do a cam belt and water pump change unless they have been done in the last 12 months
