Its not you. Old fashioned values should still be educated. It doesn’t imply disrespect, demeaning to a woman or anything wrong whatsoever.

I hold doors, walk on the outside, ladies first, try to stand when someone (especially a lady) arrives at or leaves the table. Sadly, there are people that often don’t understand these things.

Ah yes, standing when a 'lady' comes into a room or to your table... I remember it well.

It's the one thing I am ashamed to say I've bottled out of doing after all the strange reactions I observed...... I think I'll take it up again!
