That approach gets my vote

Best of both worlds that way.
Improve while you use

All the best mate
Hi again just about semi retired now and finally thinking about getting them both restored at long last sometime next year, so can anyone recommend a classic specialist in the Devon area, north or mid preferred as I need to be able to see regular progress without driving miles.

Obviously they'll both need a complete rebuild as the rust was bad to begin with but have so many good memories of them really like to see them done. The 100CS is all intact but the GL5E's bodywork is in a terrible state after so long however the roof is fine...

Thanks

Reg. "LWE....." from Sheffield if I remember correctly.

I restored the Spitfire below registered on LWE 233D and used it as a daily car for 5 years.
Sold it in 1993 and it is still kicking around.....currently SORN but only ran out of MOT 23rd July this year. . Must have done something right !!!

From this

To this.....

Oh!
I restored a MK3 Spitfire in 1997, and resprayed it from red to BRG...
and I still have it.

How wierd is that !
I resprayed mine Triumph Conifer Green, one of about 6 or 8 original colours for that year.

Is yours still on the road?

Good man
That's what they're for.

Must be around 1967/1968 on an E or F plate ?
