Yes, that was me Coxy.
I agree, Wem will stick in my memory. A good location for the next series of the Prisoner. Anyhoose, I could not add much to your account, which is spot on I think. The tickover would not hold very well when I was there, and the respray extended untidily to the engine bay, in fact I thought most of the car had been done, and there were small dents in the roof and fairly minor damage to drivers front wing. The power central locking does not work. But the underside looked basically good to me and the tyres are fine. Essentially, at 2K+, I would like reassurance that it drives down the road, and unfortunately that is not possible given it has no MOT and so a test drive is out of the question. The vendor assured me that it would be okay. I would personally pay a lot for the dash if she was breaking, but she does look too good for that in my not very humble opinion. Always a great car, but bearing some reasonable scars from nearly 30 years of existance. The price is a matter of personal judgment. The bloke was very nice, and has been very helpful, tough call but I will probably pass this by. But I will always have my movie Mpeg of this tender union between an unstable type 43 200 fan and a 5E trapped in the outer limits of Wem...ahhh. |

Oh, I would just add that the current bidder on the car has 3 bid retractions in the last six months.

It is a tough call.
I was also tempted but I think head will have to rule heart this time. Considering whoever does buy it will have to sink 4k into it between a full mechanical overhaul and a respray its too expensive at 2k+ |

Nope, didn't even consider it to be honest.
Problem being is that I'd need to spend £2-£3k to get it looking how I'd want it, and to me, they are only worth £3k-£4k tops on a good day.. |

I didn't make an offer myself. As it was currently on ebay I did not feel quite right about doing that, and in anycase I really needed to think about whether this was the car for me at the 2K start price...
