Default Wishbone bushes

Hi,
I'm wanting to replace the control arm (wishbone) bushes on my coupe. Somehow there are 2 different Febi bushes that fit which has me very confused. Does each side of the wishbone take a different sized bush?

The car is a 1996 coupe fitted with a 2.0 8v ABK engine.

I suspect having different part numbers they will be different but I don't want to order both sets if I don't need them.

Febi part numbers are 14081 and 07558.

Does anybody know which would be the correct ones?

The original part number is 8A0 407 181
If you look at the dimensions for both the Febi part numbers you gave they are the same!!!!!
You can get cast wishbones (90 20V sport, S2) which would use a different bush.
Bushes are the same (front and back) for fabricated/pressed wishones

Thanks for that Shaun. Should have maybe checked that
Out of interest where can I find original part numbers. That would be very useful in the future.

I got given a CD with ETKA 7 on it from an American friend

I would go for Febi 14081 or you can buy the whole arm with the bushes already fitted (good if you aren't mechanically minded. Plus you will need to make tools to press in / out the bushes)

Can the CD be copied?

I'm a marine engineer by trade so it shouldn't be too difficult. I have lots of tools including a press. Sourcing the parts are the hard part. I have a Ford Capri which is much easier to find bits for.

My understanding is that the Febi 14081 is a modified version of the original bush with a bigger saucer end face than the original type. The original Audi bush was supplied by Lemforder, the Lemforder part number is 10126 03 and in appearance is similar to the Febi 07558, personally I prefer Lemforder but I have come across both the Febi bushes on cars I've owned and again my opinion is that the original style Febi 07558 bush is longer lasting than the other later modified (14081) type.

These bushes are for pressed arms as the cast arms have a larger diameter bush.

If you're not bothered about originality why not go with polybush as they last longer, floflex ones are a lot cheaper than powerflex or superflex for example :

37mm obviously

I bought the new style Febi ones. I plan to eventually change all the bushes to poly as i find these cars very heavy on rubber suspension components... especially the strut top mounts!

Due to cost I've only changed the subframe bushes to poly bushes. Everything else I've bought in rubber. I'd never heard of floflex but it's a little late now
