Default Audi R8 prices.........

as the first ones are now down as low as £40k, how much lower do you think they will go?
I've seen a couple in the trade go through for high 30's. At what price will the first V8's bottom out and will they eventually take a turn and head North again or are they just too mass produced to increase much in value as time goes on??

To me only the V10 is a super car.

Think they're too mass produced to go up anytime soon, to me inside they feel like a big TT, very unimpressed the first sat in one (by comparison the same year rs6 feels much nicer inside!) even the seats are TT seats (which wear terribly!)

My uncle has always wanted one, they're in the same price league as his Cayman R, which since buying it 2 years ago (bearing in mind it's only 4 years old) has already gone up in money.

If you want to spend that money and invest in one, I know you like your Porsches so Cayman R or Boxster Spyder to me is where the sensible money is. The Cayman roughly sold 440 in the UK and the Spyder roughly half that, and they need to have the carbon buckets!

Or spend 70k and get a gallardo...

I know a car dealer that deals in high end cars (mainly porsche including the carrera gt, ferraris, mclarens etc) and he has done exactly that and bought one and has it parked up in the workshop waiting for it to go up, and he's no idiot.

Incidentally one of his customers bought a carrera gt last year from bristol porsche, paid around £330,000 for it. He sold it back to bristol porsche this week for £550,000!

Have been watching R8 prices for a very long time. About 18 months ago you could find half a dozen at £35k but now they're going up again so I don't think you'll see them get much lower.

One of the (many) reasons I ended up with an RS6

I wouldn't buy an R8 as an investment, but agree on Boxster spider and Cayman R, also 996 Turbo's are as cheap as they will ever be although started going north again now as have Carrera 4's.

I'm watching r8 prices a lot tbh as I'm looking at getting one . I have been for a while and as ever they are very spec/ colour sensitive . I have no issues buying a v8 over a v10 . Spyders ain't a hot ticket though
The prices are static if moving slightly up .

Almost missed the boat with 996 turbos the dealer I was on about has one in that 18 months ago he sold, only this time with another £10k on top of the price (£35-45k)

If it's not bought as an investment then go for it, surely can't loose too much? A lot of car for the money anyway!

the 996 turbo would be as an investment if I got one, but nearly everything seems to be going north bound nowadays
