Default Brake pipe and fitting sizes

Ok can't remember what the pipe and fitting sizes are on a B4

Do any of you learned people know of the top of your head as I have a couple of seized fittings going onto flexis that I need to change.

Cheers
Andy

3/16" will be the pipe size and they'll be metric thread size. Not sure what else you'd need to know?

As mentioned above, pipe is 3/16" or 4.75mm (5mm also fits without any problems) and fittings have metric M10x1 thread.

Can someone recommended quality brake pipe fittings please? The stuff I have recently bought on eBay has been rubbish. I need a 3/16 female straight union m10 x1
The ones I have bought will not seal as the seats are badly formed. Alternatively, a good compression connector for joining 3/16 pipe

Go to a motor factors that deal with the trade.....and you'll get decent fittings.

I can't think of a brand name , sorry.

Thanks John, sound advice but difficult in the current circumstances, especially when you live in the back of beyond!

Could you maybe use a suitably sized drill to reface the seat that seals with the pipe??

I did try that but the drill profile didn't match very well.

I have ordered some UK made brass fittings from AUTOMEC. They were not cheap but are apparently good quality.
