Ouch!
Did they X-ray to make sure there's no glass left in the wound? When he was 17, my dad tripped playing football and put his arm though a window which cut his forearm wide open. He has a U shaped scar which runs almost from the elbow to the wrist. He is 70 this year, and he still has a piece of glass which has gradually made its way right into the elbow joint where it cannot now be removed and sometimes causes trouble. It only started causing any pain about 10 years ago, and that's when they did an X-ray and found it in the elbow joint. |

I'm surprised they couldn't remove it from his elbow. I had a pole dancing incident on my stag weekend, don't ask and managed to chip part of my elbow off and that was successfully removed under local anaesthetic around a year later. Made the Doctor and nurse smile when told I them the true story of how I did it and not the "domestic fall" I told BUPA!

No pictures?
Stephen king and his ilk can write up a good spine chiller. Otherwise, Hollywood’s special effects department can rustle up a good bit of gore. This short story needs visual support, as it appears you’ve been tickling yersel wi a bottle.

Make sure that your tetanus status is up to date. I’d get a booster if I were you.
