Addictive personality
I think it's reasonably fair to say that I have an addictive personality. I currently smoke, although I did stop for 7 years but I'm hooked again. I don't drink but that's because when I did, I tended to either drink too much or wanted to drink... so I decided I was better off without it at all.
But I'm skirting round the issue here... I can't help but buy cars all the time!! My signature list is an abbreviated list of the actual amount of cars I own & I think it might be getting to a stage where it's getting out of control. And along comes another car I want! Also I like buying car parts, usually with the intent of selling them on, but I often end up hoarding them. How does anyone else with such a personality handle this issue, or should I not care & just go with the flow lol?

yep, for about 3 years I had that problem!
Managed to put a stop to it about 12 months ago and have become far more selective rather than just buying up random shite like 1980's Mazda 626's and Peugeot 505's! The problem I had was I have a lot of storage space so I just felt the need to fill it!!!! Luckily, one of our customers fleet has grown to a point where it's either theirs or mine, and mine don't pay the rent! I realise I had a problem when I had 26 cars! I'm down to about 12 or 13 now and ideally want to get down to 5 or 6, but ya if a bargain pops up, then it's got to be had! |

I will admit to eight including the old quad bike (this does not include the tractor(s). However I am managing 'just' to keep a lid on it. Problems will come when the barn is built in the very near future.. Trouble is I just like the 'old shite' that Coxy talks about, so I am going to attempt to be more selective..
Problem being when you can buy cars cheap and see 'potential'. It's not a problem for me, however my lady wife then elaborates on the 'potential' using the following words: "Rust, frustration, restoration costs and potential to loose money as they will only be worth something when we are long dead!" To her credit she hasn't said no to a car... yet. |

Glad its not just me then, from reading the above. Space and cash do dictate my fleet and whilst I'd love to own a real classic like a UR quattro, just cannot justify not only the initial costs of a decent one, but also the maintenance costs .....in fact around here finding anyone capable of sorting these cars is a bit of a headache and I am not going to the main dealers for sure as half of them there weren't even born when the UR was on the scene.
So old "wrecks" of the road will suffice and keep me "out of mischief"....sort of! I'd love to know what the 20 strong fleet of Audiden is though! Come on, spill the beans. |
