Default Wanted for the Red Baron engine.

As some of you may know the engine from the car was stripped and the solid bucket tappets were all found to be very badly corroded so they were unusable.

The part number is 056 109 311A and is found in engines from early GTi golfs/scirocco passat santana 80 coupes and Ur's.

I found a set of replacements and ordered them up, noticed the inside didnt have the lifter pad as the old ones did but tried one for a tes and as expected wont work as the valve clearance end up at circa 1.5mm...which will er..clack a wee bit!

Theyve had to go back as even though the part numbers right the products wrong and it appears theyre NLA (as ever) so Ill need to source a set of used items if anyone has them.

Any solid tappet 5 cylinder will do (Js wn wb wc wr) etc as well as some golfs, so if anyone has a set for sale let me know even if its a scrap head to use ( may also be same on t4 diesels) as Its not possible to refit the head until I have these parts...typical small part causes big problem shocker!
Only other solution is to go KV head and hydraulics.

Thanks in advance for any help...btw cant trust ebay as a source either...

Set of buckets here if you're still looking Tony, or a complete 2144 KE head if you prefer?

Fill Tonys boots Lefthooker, but do you have original INA AAN/ABY lifters?

I know you can get new today but they're lighter and would prefer the heavier originals.Asking on the off chance. Cheers Mark.
