Default Is this polisher any 'good'?

Hi everyone,

I just have a few questions on what might be best to get my '80 shiney again.

I have been looking at various polishers, and have found this:-

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/s...tegoryId_31443

I know its not the best there is out there, but for the price, is it alright?

What sort of bonnets do I need?

My paint isnt in top condition anymore, 23 years is taking its tole in some places, so I dont want to spend the earth on polishing tools etc.

I guess Coxy is the best guy to ask, any use buddy?

Whats the bes to get her shiney and sparkly again?

I know its the type of questions we have had a lot of recently, hope you all aint too fed up of it!

Many thanks in advance,

The hand held Hafords polishers aren't going to be up to dealing with the paint on your Audi to be honest. You can use a polish some as Autoglym's Super resin polish and get a good result with it, but the polish contains fillers and is just masking the scratches as opposed to removing them.
The best machine in the UK is the Meguiars G220, but when you start adding the price of the machine, a few pads and some polish, you've spent £200 without even starting.
The results will be far superior though.

if you've got a birthday coming up, get one of these set ups.

with a bit of practice, you could soon get your money back by doing friends/family's cars at weekends!

Simon mate i have one of those type of polishers you can have if you want, used once just to take some of the donkey work out of a pink that should have been red nova and been in the garage since.
