Default Brake Accumulator anyone? (Urgent)

200 AQT 2.2 1988/F

Hi All, I hope the link to the photo works OK.

I know this is a toughy but if anyone knows of one anywhere, or you have a working one you could take from a breaker, I'd be really grateful as it's now holding us up. We are gonna try to get it going, but as you can see it looks almost fossilised 😄😄.

Surrey/South London if that helps.

Cheers Justin

Thanksd for the reply

Spoke to the very helpful Luke at Auto Prep (AUdi 200 Restoration bible) & he said he & Lindsey (the owner) tried to circumvent this element, but without success & they had to restore theirs. Even though mine looks fossilsed, we're having a go at brining it back from the brink; if it had only had a little cover or elasticated 'bag' around it from the factory, this probably wouldn't be such an issue!!

Hi Ian

Yep no pic indded, sorry! I was doping that on my phone & used the insert image icon, but obviously without luck, I'll insert an online link here...

That Ebay item looks quite different, so could cause issues, although it may work with mods, thanks for the headsup & we'll just have to see how we go; a few more people to try here yet & there's always the possibility of a good breaker ;-)

Cheers JJ

Going in to see my mech in a few hours as he may be hoping for some news after an overnight soak; he just doesn't like the 'rattle' when he shakes it, but fingers crossed for us please ;-)

looks similar to a brake pressure regulator from a mk2 sirocco/ mk1 golf converible, they are expensive new if you can find them and think they come with different pressures for disc or drum brakes

you could use an aftermarket bias valve or maybe try a valve from another manufacturer
