That is so much like my Rapier, colours, year, better nick inside, big difference is its a Convertible.
Should be back in this country this year so look out for WAW 481 around the shows. As for the DKW I have established that the reserve is higher than £550 can't justify/afford any more, so that's me out, if I now leave to A.C. then I might get to restore it anyway. |

I learnt to drive and passed my test in my Dad's .... except that it was the Hillman Minx cousin, but it was a well built car, and heavy!
I wanted him to buy the Rapier, but I think they cost about 50% more !! In those days I couldn't see the problem with the money ( I was only about 12/13 when he bought it). To save money he didn't order a heater..... it cost another £15 iirc but he did get a starting handle.... that was useful to turn over the engine when doing the tappets... That is a nice looking Rapier. Hands up who remembers the Airfix model in 1/32 scale? |

I still have one! I sent it away to a Professional kit builder (I kid U not) to have it built-up and painted.
I have pulled my bid from the DKW because I was suspicious that i was being run-up, even though it hadn't met its reserve, If the seller has got an 'assistant' then I've exposed it. 12bids just to establish what I put on is a bit iffy to me. Had this happen before, get a second-chance-offer within hours of auction end = run-up. |
