Do you know anyone with a tow bar and a trailer so we can get it home.

We now have the funds in place and can offer him the asking price.

Go Sal!!

to be honest, you'd be lucky to get much more for it with the damage it has.
You can pick them up for £500-£700 easily without any damage.
Only way you'd get more is by breaking it.

I agree. The market is not good for selling older cars at the moment, and I can't see it recovering for some time.

One of the main reason's I've kept my 10V coupe is the pittance it would fetch if I were to sell it, and it's far too good a car to break. I purchased my 1991 NG with very very similar damage to this one 8 years ago for £400 and mines not recorded as a write off.

TBH I would say £200 is actually slightly optimistic considering the cars recorded as write off, the only thing that justifies that price is the mileage and wheels.

You only have to add the cost's of fixing it up.

Bonnet with grill £50.
Headlight, £40.
Bumper, £50.
Rad, £30.
Alternator/bracket, £40.
Paint, £300 for a half decent job.

That's over £500. And doesn't take into account any unforeseen extra parts.

£200 with the repair prices brings out around the £750 make which is whats its worth. £300 plus repairs just tips it over the viable point?!

Typical of some women.
Whaen you buy a car you paid too much and when you sell one you're not asking enough

Again agreed. This is not cricket. I don't believe the story either, who on earth has to pay their insurers after an accident, it should be the other way round
