They are rare and I don't know if it's the early examples only, but I'm sure they exist, there may be more info on S2forum.com.
IIRC the Audi V8 5-speed has the same box.

I had a '92 100S4 new and it was 6 speed ---was the 5 speed not North American market only ?-- I have also noted no references over the years to the overboost facility on these early cars which I understood at the time took them to 260 hp for a max of some 7 seconds when the pedal was planted in the floor ---must try to find all the original bumf which came with it ( in loft, last seen aboot 1995 ) ---sorry FOR SALE thread not chat thread !

have a review here in a mag called 'Estate car', june 1992. need to scan it one day and put it up here. it lists the car as a 6 speed manual, with 5 speed manual and 5 speed auto options.

the car in the mag. is a beauty! J672 ORP. gold colour. you just don't realise how fekkin good these things were until you are reminded of what else was for sale, new, at the time.
