A.B.S. Parts manufacturer
Hi
Quickly question about the above brand of parts, has anyone used them and are they any good? It’s for my brothers A8 D2 they make a front suspension arm kit with bolts etc for £150 which if the quality is good then I would be tempted to go for. It’s a weekend car and isn’t doing big mileage, but it’s important to have the ride and handling spot on if this is cheap rubbish then we will go for meyle or lemforder if available. Just put TRW discs and pads on all round last night so trying to do the job right. Any advice appreciated! Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It depends if you want to be doing it all over again in 2-3 years instead of 6-7

I've had 2 D2's (Both S8's) and TRW/Lemforder or Meyle is all I would fit.
It's a big old car and uses a lot of arms that can wear quickly. Best of gear only unless he's got no long term plans for it. Meyle do a HD kit thats decent value (as long as he doesn't have the factory 20" rims on, some of the arms for those are different) |

Thanks guys
It’s a 3.7 Quattro sport, where did you get the Meyle HD kit from Duffy? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I had one of them. Mine was a 2002. They are really good cars.
When I replaced some arms, I used Lemforder.

It was best part of 10 years ago on my first S8, it was fleabay from memory
My second one came with the Final Edition 20’s from the factory, so had different arms ergo had to go to genuine Audi/TRW for that |

Just spoke to Autodoc who I have been buying a lot of parts from recently, they list a few Meyle kits but apparently they are not compatible according to the VIN number....
Cant see why myself, standard/sport I would have thought only would be a spring/damper change? |

That suprises me as the only difference was with the 20’s.
Pound to a penny it’ll be down to one arm being slightly different in some minor way! |
