Default 80 TDi Gearbox

A work colleague is looking for a gearbox out of an 80 TDI. Not sure of year or gearbox code but would anybody have, or know of such an item for sale?

Thanks

Mark

The code is probably BAA. I'm afraid I cannot confirm any of this, and find my BAA box to work nicely, but it may help to check this thread and see post 8 by helmsy157 and give you some more options to search for: http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/s...earbox-ratios?

Thanks for reply. Great info 👍🏻
I have just had a read at the post and looks like they were poor gearboxes.. I shall pass the info on and my colleague can maybe source an alternative.

Perhaps some of the other members will confirm the compatibility of those other gearboxes as I've never looked at another box. If it's right then it will help with more options to search for.

Grammar eh! 😂

No more Projects for me at moment John. Got to get rid of the cars taking loads of space (Corsa and Clio)

A guy from Glasgow knows the owner of the 80. The gearbox must have been run with very little oil in it and failed on the M74. Box is scrap
