Turbo gauge
Was up at the car today and I realised that the turbo gauge goes 0-1-2 and when I have my engine running no acceleration the turbo gauge is sitting in the middle at one and if I rev it it goes beyond 2???? Help please

Ok so as promised a update.
Check hose from turbo to manifold. All good nothing blocked etc. Check and cleaned MAF sensor. However the turbo gauge is still all over the place? Also when we were checking connections etc I broke the engine temp sensor top one that site on the side of the block from the top rad hose if that makes sense. Took car for drive and flat spot is gone . Would this temp sensor affect performance or anything? And finally this sensor does someone know the part no or where I could get one please. |

So cleaning the air flow sensor fixed the problem, and now you have a broken sensor?
Also what exactly is the boost gauge doing? |

Yes cleaning the maf seemed to work a treat.
But once this was done we were just checking for loose connections a it just snapped off. Boost gauge is like it's possessed it just all over the place car can be stationary and it's reading 2 bar etc |

Iirc, the boost sensor is a part of the ECU. In the good old days, I seem to remember taking a boost sensor from an Audi 200 turbo, and wiring it up to the WR ECU (it was not a direct fit)
It sounds like your sensor is not well-you may get away with cleaning connections. I also think the sensor affects the fuel supply-if the car thinks it is in boost it will pump in more fuel. Can you borrow a known good ECU and see if that helps? |

I don't know anyone else with a ur Quattro near me.
Any other suggestions or would you think that'd the cause of my possessed turbo gauge |

I would think that if the boost gauge was accurately showing the boost, your engine would be idling very erratically and driving like a &&@&, which makes me think it's the sensor giving problems.if you are happy to remove the ECU and clean the sensor connections that's the next step in my suggestions, but happy for anyone to suggest something else.
