I've had confirmation from my casting material people, 70-75C is indeed the temperature it starts to become pliable. Does anyone have any idea how that compares to the temperature a car interior will get to on a sunny day? It sounds high to me - I wouldn't fancy getting in a car if it gets to that.

ETA - this web site ( https://goodcalculators.com/inside-c...re-calculator/ ) suggests that at 35C outside temperature, after an hour the inside would get to around 60C, but it also suggests that it wouldn't increase significantly above that. In theory that would mean that the material I have would be suitable.

I found these at my local breaker.

You cut off the peg and they work with the single screw.

Now comes the embarrassing bit. I'm not actually sure what car they came off. I brought back several sets from different cars and they got mixed up. This is the only one that worked. Either from a corsa or a Peugeot 205. Sorry.
None of the VW/Audi ones worked. I now have a large collection!
I would say this was a temporary fix until I get something better.

Nice find!
My scheme didn’t work out, so this seems like the next thing to try.
I’ve looked on eBay for both Córsa and 205 clips, but haven’t found anything identical to your pics. Are there no markings on the ones you have to give a clue to origin?

No sorry. Just a 2 on one and a 1 on the other. I think they were from the Corsa but it was a very old one.
I will be up there again before long and will look for another set for you. It's an old fashion breaker and they have hundreds of cars in a yard and they sit there for months before being crushed. They did not charge me anything for these clips and earlier in the week I got the clocks, bits of trim, light fittings and lots of other bits and bobs for £30!

Thanks very much! There used to be 4 or 5 breakers near me, they’ve changed to housing and the one that remains is highly organised. Drained, stripped, shelved...and expensive with it!

Ok, Here's the news...
With help from a member on here, 3d printed versions were tried. Sadly they were too brittle and while fine if you can keep printing new ones, the "warranty" issues would make (mass) reproduction too fraught.

However, I have sourced some new reproduction ones complete with slots for washers, and washers, in light beige arriving (hopefully) by this weekend.

I have 9 sets of two available. Price to include packing, taking to post office, standing in line behind the local population for twenty minutes, weighing each packet in case they are suddenly VERY heavy, and getting 2nd class signed for postage is £24.45. This compares to £24.45 for ONE on eBay.

If you want a pair, please send me a PM with your address, I'll reply with my paypal address and will then send them out in one go next week (hopefully Wednesday, but will advise here) to everyone who's paid-via friends and family please-we are all family here! (Or add £1.25 to cover paypal fees.)

If any are left over by next weekend, I'll list them on ebay at £33 a pair.

Cheers Dave, money received. (I'll let you know when they are on their way!)

Now 3 pairs remaining.
