Default Audi Cabriolet vs Coupe Quattro

Hi all, I've been looking at a 1995 Coupe 2.8 Quattro with a manual transmission for sale and can't decide if I want to make an offer or not. It's a bit expensive (In my opinion), selling for more than double the average price of a Cabriolet here. We don't see many of them here though. (According to insurance quotes the Cabriolet is worth more than the Coupe)

I thought to turn to you guys for help. I've got a 1996 Cabriolet 2.6 with Recaros and all the nice stuff. Is it worth owning a Coupe as well. How does the Coupe compare to the Cabriolet other than the 2.8 being faster than the 2.6? Are the Coupes just this expensive?

So far the Cabriolet is a great car as a cruiser and is fairly quick. If a stock Coupe isn't going to be much different to my Cabriolet, I can rather save the money and spend it on my other cars.

The car in question: https://www.gumtree.co.za/a-classic-...50910078105709

In this country the 2.8 coupe quattro in good original order is fast becoming scarce and values are taking off like those of the S2, so it may prove prudent to add one to your collection.
Speed wise I dont think you will find them super rapid compared to the 2.6, be it a convirtible or coupe, the two engines are both super smooth and quite punchy but not that different in performance, just my opinion.
Good luck pal

Makes sense, compared to the S2, the Coupe is the next best thing. Being an Audi enthusiast is a horrible disease from a financial point of view. I'd buy another Audi every few months if I had space and money. Every now and then I start thinking, maybe if I sell one, I can replace it with another one and then I drive it and think to myself, "I can't sell this.". It's the Cabriolet's turn this week and what a car it is. I need to fix a few things, but overall it's still great and good at drawing attention. Maybe I should get a hardtop for the Cabriolet and sort of have the best of both worlds.
