Ah balls...
So I decided to take the old bus out today seeing as the sun was shining and give it a good airing, it's been stuck in the garage for too long. Putting it back in tonight and a lapse of concentration resulted in my breaking something. And unfortunately for me it happens to be a part that's as rare as hens balls! So, do any of you good folks out there have a spare you can sell me or point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance.

Sorry can't help, but I would be gutted to have a mishap like that, good luck with the search.

Thanks Colin, I've put the word out on FB but no joy as yet. I'm almost positive I came across someone in Holland a few years back who was making these but I don't remember what site. I'll keep looking.

Paul Fernandez/custom auto craft was marketing these. While he closed down the Luxembourg operation a few years ago, he's making a slow revival in Portugal. Going onto his old site was giving a link to the new operation. I've had some bits for the V8 from him.
Whether he has these available again is another matter, as much of his stock at the time was sold off. Autewo is another fairly good source of parts- I've recently bought some bits from there. I take it tradition don't have the bit?

So I got a hold of Paul in Custom Auto Craft and I have a set of reflectors on the way! Phew. Looking forward to getting them now and getting them on. Thanks for the help fellas, it's much appreciated.

Cheers John, it took some amount of elbow grease to get it to look like that! You can actually see the offending waste pipe reflected just behind the damage, needless to say some choice language was used! The sooner I clear out that garage the better.

Well, they have arrived and I'm very impressed with the quality, I'm busting to put them on the 200 now. I may sneak off out to the garage tonight for some alone time with the old bus!
On a personal note I found Paul to be an absolute gent, he wanted to know all about the 200 and sent pics of his own 100 which he's in the process of doing up. It's a pity he's out of a lot of his stock cos he did some nice stuff. Hopefully I'll be able to get a few more bits from him in the near future. Untitled by Luke W Cleary, on Flickr |
