Any takers?
I somehow doubt it, but quite sad really on a number of different counts.
Obviously someones pride and joy and I imagine a lot of effort spent to get it to its present state albeit not most folks tastes I'm guessing ? Audi Coupe http://r.ebay.com/erMMxE |

Either swapped while it's in UK, or [small chance] imported from US. There were no "originally latvian registered" B2's and maybe only a handful of B3's - we regained our independence in 1991. and before that in whole latvian soviet republic there were probably handful of foreign [out of USSR] made cars, mostly imported by seamans [I remember article some 15 years ago in a car magazine about former seaman, who had worked in a ship which was staying abroad and received salary in US dollars, and bought in western europe 1965 ford mustang in 1978, brought it home and after great pain managed to register it. Must have been very cool - to drive around V8 engined coupe in streets filled with crappy R4 engined saloons]. The whole possibility that latvian with middle income could buy new car [of course, with help of some loan] appeared sometime in new millenium, before that almost every car was imported from west around 5-10 years old. My mother is also driving mk3 golf for 11 years, which was brought from germany being a bit above 10 year age. My A90q was also imported in 1997. 10 years old, and so on. For the very same reason we basically have no classic cars - B1's, C1's, maybe handful of C2's, air cooled VW's, RWD opels [apart from omega] and so on - because they were already too old in first half of nineties.
