My thoughts exactly Log book or no log book that's a heap of rust and any Mk1 shell can be converted to rally / twin cam spec.
I did this with my 1100 Mk1 30 years ago (and god I wish I'd kept it now ), ended up with all the Rally stuff underneath and on the shell and a 1650cc twin weber engine with rolling road set up 124bhp and surprised most 3.0l cars of the time Must find some pics of it

that car is not for fixing, its just for the log book and to transfer paperwork onto another 3 door mk1 and make that a 1600 sport or whatever it is.

classic car restorers do this all the time, buy scrappers just for the vin plate and logbook etc

Most I have encountered cant see past the blue oval. I even had a friend who ran a vw club (Ford man at heart), still maintained a 3i was better than a golf

As I already said. I dont hate them, or their owners. But thats the conclusion ive come to.
I rather like original sierra cosworth, and rs1600i. But the fact remains that its still a sieera and still an escort. Ford offered incredible performance, for little money (compared to other things) and were good at making boring/mundane into stylish/exciting. But the fact remains that they had to scrimp somewhere to provide it all so cheap, and thats the thing. The build quality generally reflects the price

I said most Ford men will tell you that your audi is shite (most ive encountered do). Join a facebook group called 'cars you just dont see anymore spotted'. Its literally wall to wall with Ford fans, and there opinion is that Audi and VW is shite/boring. Even a type 81 80Sport!!
