thanks all,, . road rallying is already aloud, generaly held at night in rural areas , the new change in the law will be for closed public roads during the day /eve. the noise level will be 100db as is the current msa/fia regulations , 110 would be nice though, AUDI wont sponsor a private team in an old car, but maybe a private dealer or tuner would be interested. it would be great to get [say] 10 companys paying £1000 per season this way its not to much for a company to pay , they can also put the expense threw there books as addvertising [which it is ] so wouldnt be taxed on it, the reason £10k would be usefull is this is how much it costs me to enter 10 events [on average] . any one interested pls pm , i have alot of idears for sponsors ,, so that they feel they are getting there moneys worth . its a 2 way thing

rallying is a massive sport in Ireland where they have held rallys on closed roads for many years this is one of the reasons there are so many WRC cars out there not to mention 100s of very very quick mk2 escorts . i have competed in more than 50 rallys in the audi ,45 of them on private land such as millatry bases, airfields, and stately homes, race tracks goodwood and mallory park . the few that ive done on closed roads have been amazing , with crowds lineing the roads .The rallys at EPYNT[wales] are fantastic [sorry im crap at spelling] off to bed now been up since 1.45am. otherwise wife kill me later

I agree , the only trouble is that if you are rallying all over the country, local dealerships are not very likely to think they will get sufficient exposure for their money, so guess you need to look to National companies for getting sponsorship ?

Having said that, I would have thought there would be plenty of organisations involved with car manufacture, spare parts, tyres etc that you could approach.

easy for me to sit here and write but harder to achieve I know....perhaps you need a Manager!! :-)

Well, I'm deep into retirement and live way down in Cornwall. I'd respectfully suggest you ned someone who has a Marketing background, a genuine enthusiasm for your kind of rallying and is probably able to attend the bulk of your rallying engagements. I can't help from any of those viewpoints, but there may well be someone within the Forum who can .....

Your enthusiasm and self willed drive, not to mention the self sacrifice in funding your venture deserves recognition and I really hope there IS someone who can help you achieve what you want.

Perhaps some of the other guys can come up with some ideas?

p.s. How about the Euro Car parts or German and Swedish for starters in terms of sponsorship ?
