Brake pipe/bleeder valve size
Afternoon all,
Wonder if anyone could offer some assistance with the above topic. I’m about to do a caliper and flexi change on the front of my B2 80 (239mm vented disc/girdling caliper), does anyone know what size spanner I need for the bleed nipples? Also,I want to try and get a flare spanner to use where the flexi meets the steel line, anyone know what size the union is? Typical I need to get the bits to do it when the car is 250miles away! Any assistance greatly appreciated. Simon |

bleed valves on these are normally 7mm if they're still original. I've seen 9mm and 11mm replacements
Be very careful trying to undo them. You'll want an 11mm for the metal pipe union. Normally 14mm on the hose side

Every time I've fitted exchange calipers (not worth the hassle of doing them yourself) they have had new nipples fitted so no need to undo the old ones. If you try, as Mike says, be very careful and use lots of Plusgas Formula A (or similar) or you'll wind the heads off.
