Headlight re-silvering

Anyone got a good contact for getting the metal reflector of a headlight re-silvered?

The N/S unit on my Audi 100 has seen better days and whilst it would probably pass the MOT, I just don't like it looking not 100%.

Any contacts for re-silvering would be gratefully received. Thanks.

Try AP Metalising at Ilkeston, Derbyshire. If they're still around, used them years ago for my old job.

I've heard Dual Metallising in Birmingham do a good job and provide good service (I have no connection with them).

That would be good thanks Frank. I really need to get my Ur reflectors done, just not been a priority so any info would be useful.

Just to close this particular thread and for info for those who may follow....

AP Metalising replied to my request but stated that they do not do this sort of work.

The other suggested company ( Dual Metallising ) were quick to reply and having sent them a picture of the reflector told me that to re-silver a PAIR of reflectors would cost in the region of £260 but they needed to see the reflector first to ascertain the amount of work required. The reflectors would need to be completely stripped down.

So as far as I'm concerned, I've managed to find a place in Germany who can supply the complete unit for around £45 .....needless to say I'm going with them ( 1984 Audi 100 headlight )
