I can see this becoming a derangement arrangement

Wondering if, and given Audi and some others awkwardness you remove the little handles, poke in think blades, 3/4" long ?
Then unit pops out a bit and screw handles back on, tug and it pops out ?
Sounds plausible David but they security key is key here mate!

Scuse my ignorance but what is the security key, do you mean the 2 little flat pins that fit in the slots?
If so I had something years ago that needed flat blade type removal keys.
I ground a pair of std keys each side of the pins so they were flat and they worked.
Almost about 2 mm thick, I can take a pic tonight of my pair ?

two prongs to remove Royston is correct, you need to ease the glovebox past the stops either side, then it drops into the footwell giving you space to reach around and tug.

Ive just tried that Ben,and the brass threads that take the screws for the handle won't allow pins to pass.

Photo coming.What do you think??
