I was intending on going into Somerly for the last stage there until I found out that I would have to pay another 25 quid for the privilege.........wouldn't of minded paying a little extra 5-10 quid, but 25?? Has it always been like that? I used to go every year (mid-late nineties), but I was media, so never ended up paying anyway.

Yes, it is a bit steep and does prohibit "popping in", although that is per car. I think it's more aimed at the families, hence all the facilities and entertainment, but at that price you need to spend all day there. It's always been a premium for the main spectator stage.
I think all the proper rally fans would rather go and find a fast muddy corner somewhere in the middle of the forest anyway.

Bit of a shame really, being bias, I thought the 'uber' rally 'demo' cars probably put on a more consistent spectral than the main event...
