Like you JJ, we've got 2 plate L9STH is a follow-on from the old plate L9AFN (as in Archibaled Fraser Nash) and my old GT that was STH925Y, and I really missed that, + loved the layout of the STH, the letters balanced, asthetically pleasing, if you will. The Rep is A2EYO again, with balanced letters and a hint towards the car.

They were not cheap, but I like them, and that's the main thing.

i like Manchester Audi's plate, AUD 1 that looks good, although they shift it around a bit, part of the Lancaster group.

years ago i remember seeing AUD 116V "AUDI 16V" It too looked good.

but one of my favorites was OBO 110X "O BO110X" on a "tina" carousel

I have A6 XKL on my current A6.That was bought for my old A6 and cost less than £250. I also had A4 XKL (again less than £250) on my old A4, but that is now on my Dad's old BMW 520i SE owned by my uncle. Lastly I have A8 KLU which was on my dad's old A8 Sport (until I wrote it off last year, whoops) which was less than £250. The KL bit of the plate was unimportant to me, as I just wanted the A4 etc bit as I think they look better than N748 RDU (A4), N499 FEY (A8), R101 SNE (A6) and V272 GLE (Current A6). When I had the 90s, I would never have put a private/dateless plate on them, especially being ex VAG cars. The only exception was my white 90 quattro 20V, which came with the plate TUN 309. My brother offered me £800 for the plate back in 1997, so I bit his hand off, and the 90 was then G935 UFM. Some people think private plates are naff, some cool. Each to their own and all that.

I used to regularly see AUD 1 on top line Audis at Ian Skellys in Liverpool years and years ago. The one car that sticks in my mind that wore it was an 89 model 200 quattro in Pearl White, which would have been brand new at the time.

The polls fairly evenly split
Moneys a bit of an issue- £250 is an amount i could almost spend and not worry about it.
Anymore than £500 starts to be a waste of money, unless I had loads then £50k+ wouldn't be a problem for the right plate.
"BLU" is maybe a bit naff but for some silly reason I've always hated long "M" reg nos ??
D3LTA was sold on an Integrale last summer and I've not seen it since.
"L30 EVO" is up for sale but its a bit rich, if it was all in for "F14 EVO" s price I might consider it>
"Fool and his money"....etc

How about "M66 WRC"

simple initials with a number or two - Cool

peoples Names spelt out - chavish

messing with the spacing and nut heads to make something else - pointless, daft, pretentious etc

if you have to try hard to make it say something, then the point is lost.

My GTO, had the reg- G10CHA from the previous owner. He wanted £500 for it, because if you put black screws in certain places it says GTO CHA. So what? The reflector strip above it says GTO anyway.

My S4 however has S4DRX, and I didn't pay for it. I wouldn't buy it myself; But It is an S4, and it was owned by a Doctor.

I would have my initials with a digit, but only after i have everything else sorted. I can't understand splashing out £500+ on reg numbers, though, when the car it's bolted to needs a £1000 or more in work or bits.
