Hi All!
What a great thread!! ![]() I was lucky enough to have the Atari 2600 'woody' when it first came out, I still have it!! It came with Combat video cartridge!!! Tank pong was my favourite, bouncing shots all over the maze and the tank spinning when it was shot!! My favourte games for the 2600 were Space Invaders, Pac-man, Night driver, (you had to use the 'paddle' controllers), Frogger, Dodge em, Centrepied, Dug-Dig, Astroids, Defender, Pele's soccer, (when you scored a goal you would get fireworks)!!! ![]() Other games, Star wars, After burner, Donkey Kong, especially on the gameboy and probably my favourite 'Hyper Sports', similar to Daley Thompson Decacthalon but better. Like everyone else, my skin would be raw and blistered from using it. I would use the outside of my fists to generate speed and they would be going like jack hammers I was mega fast and my mate would press the red button do the breathing for swimming, the initial jump for the vaulting for gymnastics, to hurdle for the 110m and to get height for the high jump but there was also 'Skeet' shooting, Archery, Hammer. There were extra points for perfect scores!!! Haha cant believe I remembered all that s**t, although i do remember my 'world record' for the sprints stood for years in my town and my game name was poo-poo lol ![]() How sad, but great days!!!I never play games now, the Atari 2600 was the only games console I ever owned. Regards |

Afterburner in the arcade (growing up in a seaside town had its uses..)
Excitebike and Duck Hunt on the NES; Frontier Elite, Moonstone and never got the hang of A Train ( was only about 8 though) on the Amiga. Transport Tycoon and Duke Nukem on the PC, Gran Turismo on a borrowed 1st gen PS1, then GT3+4 on PS2. Currently caning Fallout 3 on the PS3 waiting for GT5 and Space Marine. |
