Standard price for these four years ago when I was on here every day was £900. The vampires used to buy them just for the engine and scrap the rest. You could get an MB for five grand not long ago. So everything is subjective. Cars are worth what people will pay for them. And if they're paying £3.5 K for a 2.8cq with 150k on it why not try £2k for one with a boot and 125k? Doors and bumpers are cheap.

I'd like to be able to pay five grand for this with ultra low mileage, but with most of these old things approaching moon miles/being broken the price becomes dictated by availability, and investment prospects, not what they cost four years ago.

.

Given the low mileage, condition and history, I would pitch it around £4000, Mark. A lot is to do with who's out there at the time and desperately seeking that big purple helmet to make their life complete!

Remember last year and all the excitement of me getting my saloon and you so shortly after getting your new one? Well as i know what you paid and what you have put into this car since buying i think you underestimate worth.Prices have risen without people addressing little issues. Prices are going crazy on quattros even in the last 12 months.Hence why i suggested to you getting one quickly last year! I'd say yours is worth £4.5 - £5k now.I bet that whole front respray you had recently didn't come in cheap?

It's the old story - it all depends who's out there with the bag of money and looking for your car. The S6 certainly looks a whole lot nicer now that all those stone chips are gone and that the driver's door lower seal has been replaced.

I'm in the process of having a set of headlamp skooshers fitted, as in my opinion this car should never have been ordered without them..

Just as fast with them!

I got the complete kit from Spink, including the punched headlamp panels that you see in the photo. It's some amount of stuff but once in place, I'll have the ultimate S6. In my opinion, of course!

Kit was showing me the tape he used to cover the holes left in his bumper when he removed his skooshers to save weight and free some space up under the bonnet. It's all about your priorities
