I'll single out this one post as you've come from a very well known Forum (Edition38 I'm presuming) which is one of the most active VAG based forums in the UK and one which has quiet a reputation for having people on their with some seriously nice motors, but it's also the down fall of a lot of forums as it then breeds a hierarchy based on who drives/owns/builds what. Where as this place feels totally different. A lad with a bog standard Audi 80 can be seen with someone with an ex works quattro and yet he wouldn't need to feel like he needs to keep up with the Jones as his ride would get just as much credit and respect for having a stock motor.
You can choose to lower it or stick a V6 lump in the front of a Typ 85 and no one will be offended, you can strip and build a full on Rally Rep or keep it stock and spend a few hours every week giving it a quick polish and you'd still have the same amount of respect off fellow Audi owners.
I do hope the fourmula we seem to have achieved has been set in stone and led the way for the future of this place.
My main concern is that it doesn't grow too big which can be the death of some places.
There is no hierarchy in this place or the Classic Audi scene in general, unlike other scenes such as Porsche and most notably, the VW scene which is rife for it as some may know and that's both Air and Watercooled.

Edition38 has become a victim of its own success, when we started it in 2001 there just wasn't any forums like it, so it 'got in' at ground level.. the success just built from there and to us it was scarey. It didn't get silly until about 3 years ago when the post count etc just went through the roof and we the admins spent all our time porting from one huge server to the next..
I quit it all last year as it just isn't what I'm interested in and after 8 years I'd just had enough. Plus after buying my two 80's I've fallen in love with Audis..I now use the mk1 owners club forum and this one..
