mine was probably due to being the only person on "the block" (neighbourhood) who has a quattro.

after seeing a photo of me when I was little:

even my first car was tornado red!!

quattro"kid" seemed a good username.

perhaps this photo says otherwise:

my horror when I realised the road wasnt finished yet so I couldnt go out for a spin and I would have to wait 35 years until I did buy a WR quattro!

Mines Catgroom because one way I earn money is to groom Persian and other cats over 5 counties.

I got qualified in it and love doing it,especially the nutty fierce ones for some reason!

Most nowadays call me Cat,or Groom,Cattus,The Cat or mainly Groomus-cos Matbat from the Volvo 480 Europe Forum (ex 480 Turbo owner see! X4!!)calls me Groomus Felinius,then everything started getting a Latin/Roman us in the end of it!Silly ....but true.My name,in fact,is Steve.

I am Lofty taken from the Eastenders character (played by Tom Watt for trivia fans)
When the show started all those years ago I had spikey hair (hell,when I had hair) and glasses and everyone thought we were deadringers......funny but worrying!
I now look nothing like that old character but the name stuck.
Cue Bob the builder and the cowardly crane.....thats where everyone now thinks I get my name.....gave up trying to explain.....so just waved a white flag and used the avatar.........

Mines dead simple, it's my initials and year of birth. name is Martyn Johnson and for years I have been called Emjay. Only there are lots of Emjay's on various forums so I added the 62.

Mines quite long winded & possibly a bit boring but here goes.......

At school my nickname was bigbad for a long time as i'd always towered over everyone & been about twice the size of the other kids in my year (must have been my mums cooking!) Then during a trip to Holland with the school football team 1 of the other lads starting calling me vigvad which ended up sticking for about 6 months until the vad got dropped & it was just vig this in turn morphed into sprig somehow which was around the time I left school & it's been stuck at that for the last 14 years & still going strong. It's quite funny when my misses is out with me as she calls me Craig (my proper name) & most my mates don't have a clue who she's on about

When I first got internet many moons ago one of the first things I did was try out MSN Gaming Zone, it asked me to choose a username. Being impatient I just stuck in 'Z' cos my surname begins with a 'Z' but it was already taken and ofered me alternatives, the first on the list was 'Z82' which I took and have used it as my online ID ever since.
