IMHO: it won't do much: 'interest' wained a few months after the last series & will again after this final series. Interest in this context = people who are not normally out & out Audi Coupe fans suddenly thinking their car will be worth more now. Whilst it is good to see the Ur on the screen & GH is given the impression of driving it hard; the way it is featured does not do much for the marque (hell it can't even out-run an Austin Princess! [episode2]) except remind people they were an 80's icon. As for Audi I don't expect they're bothered either way & it would have made no odds to them if the BBC had chosen an XR3i: all they do is make another bin load of parts obsolete every month. Why do I always choose a car that's hard to get parts for Cheers.

I've noticed more people chase me in there cars since the second series of Ashes 2 Ashes started.

Oh,.. did i say chase me?? What I meant was, over take and leave me for dust.

first an old toyota cilica stepped on me,
then A red MK2 escort peed on me last week, (that was rapid to be fair)

& I even had a white pug 106 rallie I couldn't shake one day, even on the swisty's., & As if that wasn't bad enough, he then closed the gap, just so i knew not only was he as fast as me, but he was faster . He gives me a toot! of his french horn when ever he sees me in town now. Looks like i've made a friend. lol

Just an idea, but Audi are celebrating 100 years and they are the main marque at the show.
There will be a lot of bods from Audi HQ there prancing around with their new models on show, and such cars as the new TTRS etc etc.

Could just get all the quattros/80's/90's/100's and just form a bit of a quite blockade, and when they ask us all to move, we just reply "we would if we could, but the car isn't working because I'm after a part for it which you discontinued 1 min 38 seconds after production ceased..."

Just an idea like. Kinda piss on their parade a bit!
Kind of like my idea for the 30 year celebrations next year, to hit the Audi Museum and strip all of the cars in there for the parts to keep ours going lol!

Must be an odd day for A2A related things...

yes i like ashes to ashes , yes i have an old audi quattro ur, yes it has increased the valve of the car, and that it. But what pissed me off is when i approach the top guy at audi ,s international show last year in castle coombes, and i asked him about the parts siruration on all old audi but my quattro ur, he looked at me and could not answer the question but said look on internet, so i asked him why he could not support this car ie quattro ur , which give them huge success in the 1980s in the rally world, to which his pr bitch tried to get stuffy with me, so i asked him w3hy its easy to get parts for older triumphs, mimis, vw, fords etc etc etc ,again he did not answer, so my final point to him was WHY should I buy a R8 or any new audi, when in 8 years all parts will be deleted for all audis of today, he did not like my comments or the truth spoken to him at all and yes i did point out that ashes to ashes , series one had highen the demand for older audi quattro ur and coupes, but we all suffer from crap parts or lack of the supply for them. yes in the end the pr bitch did get stuffy, to which i asked her did she know what a quattro was and had she driven one to which on both answer the bitch said NO, so what can i say???????????????????????????? any commentguys

The parts situation is annoying, but TBH why should Audi give a stuff about us?
I don't have any interest in the kids I knocked around with in school 30 yrs ago so why should Audi care about stuff they made back then?
I imagine the average punter who is buying a new Audi doesn't care if theres no parts available in 8yrs time. They almost certainly wont own it! (if they ever did- I imagine most audi sales are to business users etc) The car will be owned by its 3 or 4th owner who has it maintained by a local garage. Theres no money in it for Audi, who are a business not a charity.
lets put pressure on Audi and hope they help out of the goodness of their hearts because there's no business advantage in it.
I suggested to the QOC chairman that Philip Glennister was made an honuary member. I would have thought that would have made a few paragraphs in "The Sun" . Never heard anything back.
The only effect A2A has had for me is that Monday nights are something I look forward to and the inclusion of a quattro is a nice bonus.
