I'm running 195/50x15 front 205/50x15 rear. did run 205 on the front but they rubbed with the old
suspension. It now has new suspension fitted which is now 60/40 with -10to15mm upper spring caps so will have to see wot its like once it all settles.Car back no road at the end of this mouth.thanks for comment on the wheels |

![]() tires on them are 195/50/16, but i was thinking of getting 195/45/16.. Not because I want rubber bands, but because the cost of 50 over 45 is mucho more as expensive . |

i see u changed your avatar pic! lol good choice. Yea, i'm running 195/60/14's on standard 14 inch x 6 inch ronals. Personally, I think 195/60/14 on a 6inch wide wheel is a bit, erm.. 'sloppy' IMO. On the back I have yoko's and they aren't too bad, and have quite a strong side wall. But the Hancook tires on the front have a bit too much movement in them. I think my sis has 185 60 14's on her escort and they look much stronger and less prone to 'move'. Even if they are a cheap brand. |

The higher the et the closer the wheels sit to the strut (ie theyll tuck under the arches more). The lower the et the more theyll sit away from the strut and poke out.
Borbet only had a limited run on the a's and didnt do a wide variety of et's and sizes (ie majority if not all 9x16 borbet a's are et15). The law regarding tyres poking out is that the tyre tread itself has to be within the arch. This is why you see so many dubs with stretched tyres sitting out past the arches. However it is a bit of a grey are with the boys in blue in the street. Defo agree with above, you need to start measuring Hth Gav |

Gaz. Just so you know, for a point of reference. My 1983 Coupe GT had factory Ronals which were 6x14" et 45. They were tucked pretty deep under the arch. I upgraded to 7x15 inch et28, with the lower et and wider wheel I've exactly filled the arch and have plenty of internal clearance to the suspension. I mounted 195/55/r15's Yokohamas. I think given the tolerances 205 would be too close. The 55 vs. 50 give me a little extra cushion, which I've been glad for. The Coupe is definately smooth to drive, quiet, and sure footed. That being said she tracks a bit twitchy (not bad) which commands good suspension (lowering considerations for later)and alignment.
Vag80 are you saying the wheels on the Audi in your Album are Borbet A's, or is it too early in the morning for me? Probably. They look like Revolutions. They look great by the way. I'd like all the info on them spec-wise for my records. Cheers. |
