I did allow myself a small wry smile when I learned he had passed away in his garage whilst no doubt fettling something or other. I'm lucky enough to own one of his old cars an it is an absolute pleasure to own and work on after all the fantastic work Mike did on it.

I'll be in his debt for years to come I'm sure.

RIP pal.

What was the story with his death?
It would be in his garage

Mike

Hi Guys, just had a call from a friend on the forum with the news about Mike, I did know he had health problems for some time, spoke to him in March about when would be the best time to starting up the meeting again on a Sunday morning, never thought he would not be at the next one.
RIP old Friend.

It’s a real loss to us all Colin, I know you and him batted a lot of things off of each other

Hi Duffy, I met Mike in the early 90's via another Audi club, ( pre internet ) always a friend you could call on for advice, I will be going to the service on Monday.

Very sad to hear this news. Appears to have gone long before his time. He had been very helpful to me recently with his advice. ... RIP

I won’t be there unfortunately Colin
I’m a union rep and I’m representing a colleague at a disciplinary, I can’t get anybody to stand in at this late stage and I’m not in a position to move the meeting.

As I said on the S2Forum, very sad news, only sent him some parts a month ago and had been chatting via PM, seemed like a really nice guy. His knowledge will be greatly missed.

RIP Mike.

Terrible news. We only ever met once at one of the Sunday breakfast meets when I was on my way home after a school reunion in Edinburgh. We spent the whole morning chatting together and I will miss his helpful comments on here.
Very great loss to his friends and family - virtual and real.

I have known Mike for over 20 years, spent a lot of time with him at shows and he would come to the gatherings which I used to have at my home in Worksop, He had a very dry sense of humor and was very knowledgeable about all things Audi, part numbers and Audi upgrades he will be sorely missed by all . As well as on here he was a member of Audi Owners Club, Audi fans, and a close club Nogsport .RIP Mike.
